Perfect place for a quick hot dog. Nothing fancy, just hot dog stand with about ten counter stools. Cheap and quick.

This is definitely one of the coolest restaurants in the neighborhood. Anytime I go there I am awfully glad. They maintain their high standard service and the highest level of dishes they offer. You are always happy with this place. Very recommended.

Memorable hot dog. Loved it, it was delicious. From the Freshness of the buns to the full flavored hot dog. The toppings are what make it come together for a satisfying treat.

From the moment you enter this place the stuff gives you a comfortable feeling. Very hospitable hosts, it is a friendly restaurant to hang out with your friends or with your date. Excellent cooking, qualified chef de cuisine, competitive pay and excellent service. Highly recommended.

By the way, this is for the Whiting location- no better dog on the planet..period. tiny super old school place. Dogs are wrapped in a ton of fries. Polish sausage is fantastic too.

Edit: 3/12/2020You would think a restaurant that has been around for years would seeming get better... Two years after my original rating, I'm back. I used to love eating here. The prices used to be decent... We just ordered two beef sandwiches with fries, and two cups of cheese. Our order was nearly $30 for just this! No drinks! Both sandwhiches were dipped with mozzarella, and one had peppers. Since you pay extra, you would think that there would be visible cheese on the sandwich..... I'll post a picture to show the mozzarella that's on the sandwich. About a month ago, we had order 4 hotdogs. They all had wheat buns. We didn't order with wheat buns! The bun completely changed the taste of the hotdog. It was so disgusting that we couldn't even finish our food. We ended up giving it to our dog. I don't think we'll be back any time soon.

Where Chicago gets their dogs. and yes, there's Chicago dog does have ketchup. But they do made to order for their clients.

Hot dogs are great and it's fast in and out joint. But they do have seating if you wish to dine in.

Only one of the best little hotdogs stands around. We moved to Southern Indiana but still will make that 4.5 hour drive for a Chicago Dog. Great food with great prices and great people. I tried to get one of their employee shirts last week while we visited. Would have wore it proudly down south. These people down here do not know good food. Keep it up, we will visit soon.

I really don't like that I can't give them 5 stars. I moved here 10 years ago from Chicago and was astounded by this lil joint that was making my Vienna Beef polish the way I like 'em... Chicago Style! And I have greatly enjoyed them for years, often being the way I have started hundreds of days! But, alas they are going the way of too many other very popular establishments by letting it go to their heads, or rather your pocket. Chicago Style polish is now over $5! Although this includes fries, and their fries are great, this is not Maxwell street where the Polish is twice the size for the same price and comes with fries. I can't do it. Won't do it. Not when I have discovered another joint in E.C. named for a guy who worked in Chicago joints and his price is a cool $2.99 with fries. Sorry, Arnie... You priced me out.

The beef didn't have enough meat on it, I asked for hot peppers they put sports peppers instead of Giardiniera peppers

No Jumbo hot dogs. Skyway has a better deal. A Jumbo hot dog , fries and a medium drink all for under $6 dollars.

The service is always fast, awesome atmosphere, very friendly staff members. I will return again when I get in the area.

I want to like this place, but it's always poor execution. There are often missed items, but I guess you could argue that would be my own fault since you can literally see them making/bagging your food.. the one thing i do not like is how they roll their fries with the hot dog to possibly save on disposable costs, but what you end up getting is a sad smushed hot dog due to the fries being wrapped with dog.. other than that its pretty much your average hot dog stand that can be amazing some days, or hit and miss on the others.

Good dogs. Place can only sit 5 people at a time. Try to go at off hours because it is so much better to eat in versus take out. Take out is soggy fries and a dang mess if you get chili dogs.

Old style, no suprises. Well maybe some cooked french fries. Prices are higher then normal.

I actually like this place a lot. The one thing I would urge them to do is to use the true Chicago green relish. That would definitely be the icing on the cake for this spot.

It was ok but the food was limited when I ate there. I ordered 2 beefs and they only had 1, not to mention it was wrapped in a sandwich bag 😂 I swear I'm not making this up. I ended up getting a hotdog and fries which wasn't bad ,but they definitely lost points with the whole Italian Beef fiasco 🤣

Very quick, delicious and adorable lunch for me and the kids after our trip to Whihala beach. My kids favorite place to go to eat in Whiting.

Sometimes the crappiest shack's, have the best food. I absolutely love Arnie's. When you grow up, move out of state, come back to visit, and all you can think about is childhood memories. Arnie's...your the greatest!

Arnie's was one of my favorite places to go when in high school back in the day. Their French fries by the bag full was one of the best lunches I could have. Their chili dogs and polish weren't bad either. I still like all of that!

This place is excellent. Everything is always fresh. Best Polish Sausage in area. However it is getting pricey. Too bad.
